The Duke’s Decision

The Duke’s Decision is the story of Vivian, the widowed Viscountess Rowden and the Duke of Whitley, or as those in polite society call him behind his back, the Ice Duke.

“Whit” to his close circle of friends is not bothered that the icy, contemptuous gaze he turns on those who annoy him is a favorite topic of conversation at any gathering of the London ton. The rumor that a debutante once fainted dead away after being the subject of that gaze merely adds to his terrifying reputation.

It would certainly surprise the gossips to learn that Whit was, in fact, the King’s spymaster with a vast network of agents and operatives—men and women who have devoted their lives to keeping England safe from Napoleon, the power-hungry emperor of France.

But enough about Whit. At least for now, because it’s Vivian who—literally—stumbles across the arrogant man in Alexander’s Books, Newspapers, Magazines, and Engravings, a bookstore just off of London’s bustling Bond Street. Vivian is researching a rather interesting bit for the puzzle she’s creating for the London Mail News and, if truth be told, she was rather caught up in her work when she ran smack into the handsome Duke of Whitley. You can image how flustered and utterly apologetic she must have been, right? Have you met Vivian?
