READ AN EXCERPT
The Duke’s Dilemma is Linney and Avery’s story. After one meeting, it’s clear to them both that they are meant to be together. The problem is how to get there from here. After all, Avery’s father is the Duke of Easton and Linney’s father… Well, her father is a solicitor who works for a living.
Between fervid kisses and stolen interludes, Linney and Avery talk of marriage and their future, but Avery stubbornly refuses to ask formally for her hand until he can put the famous Easton engagement ring on her finger. Unfortunately, the ring is at Terra Bella, the Duke of Easton’s country estate, along with Avery’s father, the current Duke of Easton—to whom Avery hasn’t really spoken since his mother died.
When Avery leaves suddenly without even saying goodbye, Linney is hurt and confused until she decides to take things into her own hands and show Avery that they belong together now.
But, as Shakespeare said, “the course of true love never did run smooth” and when an old enemy resurfaces, everything changes. Napoleon's spymaster wants revenge for his emperor’s downfall and he won’t stop until everyone associated with Napoleon’s defeat is destroyed. His ruthless plan is to get even by destroying everyone close to Avery—especially the woman he loves.
True love may conquer all, but it’s almost never an easy road.
